Colder air will settle across the northeastern United States, including the Pittsburgh area, into the weekend and could be accompanied by multiple storms with some wet snow.
Following the mild start to the week, temperatures will slide below average during Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The average high for early March is in the middle 40s F. Highs from through Friday will be in the 30s. Highs on Saturday will be in the lower 40s.
Another storm forecast to roll in from the Midwest may track close enough to bring a period or two of wet snow from Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.
Marginal temperatures will cause at least some of that snow to melt on paved areas. However, should the snow come down hard for a brief time, bridges, overpasses and at least untreated secondary roads could get slippery.
After a period of dry weather Friday afternoon into Saturday morning, a weaker storm system will roll across the region Saturday afternoon into early Sunday with snow showers.

In each case, some rain and sleet can be mixed in. The best chance of a couple of inches combined from both storms will be on non-paved surfaces around the city and over the Laurel Mountains.
Following the wintry conditions into the weekend, indications are that spring weather will bust loose next week with temperatures likely to climb into the 60s or perhaps higher on multiple days.
