New York Fashion Week: Sunny Skies, Warm Weather to Last Through Closing Shows

Sunshine and warm weather will continue in the Big Apple this week as New York Fashion Week continues.
After days of wet and chilly conditions kicked off the event, dry skies will be a welcome sight for those traveling from venue to venue throughout the rest of the week.

A semi-annual event, Fashion Week will feature spring/summer 2016 collections from iconic designers. Models wearing designs from DKNY, Naeem Khan, J. Crew and Calvin Klein will hit the runways before the event closes on Thursday, Sept. 17.
Official shows are taking place at the Skylight at Moynihan Station and the Skylight at Clarkson Square, two new locations for this year's event.

Other popular designers such as Marachesa, Cynthia Rowley, Theory and Marc Jacobs will showcase their collections at various locations across the city.
While umbrellas were needed during for the first half of the seven-day event, sunglasses will be the favored accessory through late this week.

"Skies will stay mostly sunny all week and temperatures will reach above average for this time of the year," AccuWeather Meteorologist Josh Searles said.
Temperatures will climb nearly 10 degrees higher than the average mid-70s F by the middle of the week. By Wednesday, AccuWeather ReelFeel® Temperatures could cross the 90-degree mark.
The warm conditions will hold through Friday.
"The city won't see the chance for showers again until Saturday," Searles said.
