Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,March 7,2015

Expect relatively mild weather conditions to persist for the nation on Saturday as high pressure remains the dominant weather feature. The ridge of high pressure situated over the South will maintain chilly temperatures from the southern Plains through the mid-Atlantic states. While the region will see a gradual warning trend, expect highs to remain 10 to 15 degrees below normal for these areas. Expect Washington D.C. to see highs in the mid-40s, while Atlanta, Georgia will see highs near 60.

North of this activity, a trough of low pressure continues trekking eastward over the Great Lakes region and into the Northeast. This system will produce a few widespread scattered snow showers with snowfall accumulation remaining less than an inch.

Meanwhile over Florida, a stalled cold front will continue triggering widespread scattered rain showers over the state throughout the day. Expect rainfall accumulation to remain less than a half of an inch for most areas.

Out West, a broad and expansive ridge of high pressure will maintain dry and warm conditions for the Western states. In the south, however, a weak trough of low pressure creates strong and gusty winds across southern California and Arizona. A wind advisory has been issued for parts of southern California as 20 to 30 mph winds are likely with possible gusts up to 50 mph.
