Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,March 25,2015

Expect more wintry weather to spread across the Northern states, while periods of heavy rainfall will develop across the Plains, and the Pacific Northwest will remain wet on Wednesday. A low pressure system over the northern Plains will continue trekking eastward across the Great Lakes and into the Northeast on Wednesday. This system will produce more snow showers as it moves eastward throughout the day, with snowfall totals expected to range from 2 to 4 inches. Warmer temperatures along the southern side of this system will allow for rain showers to move across the Ohio River Valley and towards the mid-Atlantic states.

Meanwhile behind this activity in the Plains, a low pressure system strengthens as it moves off the central Rockies and into the central Plains. This will pull moisture northward from the Gulf of Mexico, creating heavy rain and flooding from northern Texas through Missouri. There is a moderate chance of severe weather development for these areas with the main threats being large hail and damaging winds.

Out West, another trough of low pressure moves into the Pacific Northwest, triggering more scattered showers for Oregon and Washington. Expect snow levels to rise with this system as warmer air moves in from the south. A ridge of high pressure over the Southwest will keep most of California, Arizona and Nevada dry on Wednesday.
