Weather Underground Forecast for Friday,March 20,2015

Rainy conditions will continue to spread across the Southern states on Friday as a trough of low pressure lingers over the southern half of the nation. The system will continue pulling Pacific moisture in from the west, while the southern side of the system will bring more moisture in from the Gulf of Mexico. Expect this to allow for showers and thunderstorms to develop across the Southwest throughout the day, with afternoon storms popping up across Arizona and New Mexico. Moderate to heavy showers are expected to spread across Texas, while heavy precipitation will develop across the East Coast from New York through the Carolinas. Cooler temperatures along the northern side of this system may allow for snow showers to develop from Ohio through New York state. Expect this late season snow storm to produce dangerous roads and travel conditions for the region early Friday morning. This system will move offshore by midday, allowing for precipitation to diminish for the East Coast into Friday evening. However, expect rainy conditions to persist along the Gulf Coast throughout most of the day from eastern Texas through the panhandle of Florida.

Out West, a low pressure system in British Columbia will continue pulling a cold front onshore from the Pacific Ocean. This front will move over the Pacific Northwest and stretch into far northern California, where it will produce scattered rain showers late Friday, into Saturday morning.
