Weather Underground Forecast for Monday,March 2,2015

A low pressure system will slide across the Four Corners on Monday, while a cold front will sink southward over the northern Plains.

An area of low pressure will inch eastward over the Four Corners. This system will usher moderate to heavy snow showers across the Wasatch and the southern Rockies. Winter storm warnings are in place for northern Arizona, eastern Utah, Colorado and northern New Mexico. Low elevation rain will spread across Arizona and New Mexico, while scattered showers will linger over southern California. Just to the north, a cold frontal boundary is expected to sink south southeastward over the upper Intermountain West and the northern Plains. This frontal boundary will generate moderate snow showers across the northern Rockies, the northern Plains and parts of the upper Midwest. Winter storm watches are in place across southern Montana and Wyoming.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system will move northeastward over the coast of New England. This system will bring moderate to heavy snow to portions of the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend over the coast of New England, the Mid-Atlantic, Deep South and the western Gulf Coast. An onshore flow from the Gulf of Mexico will intersect this frontal boundary, initiating showers and thunderstorms over the western Gulf Coast and the lower Mississippi Valley. In addition, a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow will be possible across the central Plains and the middle Mississippi Valley. Light rain will also be possible across the Deep South, the Tennessee Valley and the southern Mid-Atlantic on Monday.
