Weather Underground Forecast for Monday,March 16,2015
The
Eastern states will continue to see dry weather with a warming trend on
Monday, while areas of wet weather are expected to persist for the West.
A series of low pressure systems that brought rain showers to the
Pacific Northwest will continue sliding eastward over the Intermountain
West and into the Northern Rockies. Rainfall totals across the region
will vary around 1 inch with snow levels remaining high through Monday
night. A cold front trailing to the south of this system will allow for a
weak band of rain showers to move across northern California and into
northern Nevada on Monday. Only light and scattered showers are
anticipated along this front. The first of these series of low pressure
troughs will make its way into the upper Midwest on Monday, producing
rain showers across northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin, as well
as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As cold air filters in behind this
system, rain showers will likely turn to snow showers for the northern
locations. Expect a messy combination of rain, sleet, and freezing rain
for these areas.
Elsewhere, a ridge of high pressure dominates across the Plains and Eastern Valleys, maintaining a warming trend for the region. Due to these warm and dry conditions, fire danger will remain high for the central and southern Plains on Monday.
