Stormy Weather in South to Give Way to Sunshine by Late Weekend

A soggy storm system that brought flooding to parts of the country during the week will bring some wet weather to the Southeast as the weekend begins.
"A weak cool front moving through the region on Saturday will cause widespread showers and even a few thunderstorms," said AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Ben Noll.
It will not be a washout on Saturday as most of the shower and thunderstorm activity will be scattered throughout the region.

However, folks who plan on heading outside for a time will want to pack the umbrella in case they run into a few showers.
Despite rain and clouds around, temperatures will be on the mild side due to a southerly flow. Most locations will be 5 to 15 degrees above the average high for this time of the year, including Atlanta, Jacksonville, Florida, and Birmingham, Alabama.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to diminish overnight Saturday into Sunday across the interior Southeast.

The cool front will have little effect on temperatures heading into Sunday. Highs to end the weekend will continue to remain above average.
However, the front will sweep out most of the moisture leftover from Saturday, leaving a rather dry and pleasant Sunday across most of the region.
"Sunday will be a sensational day across the Southeast with lower amounts of humidity and comfortable temperatures under abundant sunshine," said Noll.
The front could spark up a few showers across Florida, but the rest of the region will dry out.
It may be a good idea to postpone any outdoor Saturday plans until Sunday when the weather will be much more cooperative.
The pleasant weather will likely continue through the early part of next week as well.
