How Many Tornadoes Has Your City Seen Since 1950?

The slideshow above shows the number of tornadoes in each month for over 40 cities in alphabetical order across the United States from 1950-2013.
In the text below each graphic you can find the total number of tornadoes and the counties that are included. Also shown is the tornado density, which is the number of tornadoes per 1,000 square miles per year. This data comes from severe weather expert Dr. Greg Forbes of The Weather Channel.
In some cities, this information can give you a feel for when tornado season peaks.
For example, Atlanta has had most of its tornadoes in March, April and May. In Midwest cities like Minneapolis/St. Paul and Des Moines, Iowa, you'll see that the peak occurs a little later – in May and June. West Coast locations, including Los Angeles and San Diego, have historically seen most of their tornadoes in the wet season from November into March.
