As the new workweek kicks off, chilly conditions will hold strong before showers invade the region.
As Sunday brings a temperature drop into the low 40s, the below-average conditions will last into midweek.
Normal daytime highs for this time of year are in the upper 40s. Though skies will stay sunny, the cool temperatures will last through Tuesday.

However, a slight rise in the mercury is in store with daytime highs approaching the mid-40s just before midweek.
The cool spell will snap at midweek as temperatures could hit the 60-degree mark on Wednesday. However, the warm air will be accompanied by showers.
"Showers could dampen the region on and off throughout the day," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Maggie Samuhel said.
