The door will open for warmer air to pour into Atlanta through the rest of the week.
Starting on Tuesday, it will become more humid with highs moving into the low 80s.
Atlanta will continue to gradually turn hotter through the week as sunshine remains in control. The first 90-degree reading of the year will occur on Thursday.
Overnight lows through Thursday will sit in the mid-60s.
Humidity levels will initially be pleasantly low as the warming trend commences but will rise later in the week and add to the discomfort of the impending sizzling heat.
