Showers and thunderstorms will continue to dot the Atlanta area through Memorial Day.
Similar to Sunday, another round of spotty showers and thunderstorms will rumble across Atlanta on Monday.
That is not the news those with picnics, parades and outdoor celebrations want to hear.
However, the best time for such activities will be during the morning since the majority of the thunderstorms on Monday will occur during the afternoon and evening hours.

Setting the stage for the thunderstorms on Monday will be the warmth that will send temperatures soaring to the middle 80s.
Widespread severe weather is not expected for Memorial Day. However, you are close enough to be struck by lightning when you hear thunder.
Another sizzling day is in store for Tuesday when another thunderstorm will be around.
