A ridge of high pressure will be stationed over the northern Gulf of Mexico through the rest of the week and into this weekend.
It should keep dry, warm weather in the Atlanta area throughout that time.
"It's a little warmer than average for latter May," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Erik Pindrock said.
Thursday through Sunday, temperatures will remain in the upper 80s, nearing the 90 F mark.
Humidity will creep up a bit on Thursday, he said.
"This high will help to deflect showers and thunderstorms to our north over the next several days; however, an isolated shower or thunderstorm could sneak into the northern most counties of Georgia Thursday or Friday," he said.

High pressure will shift to the Southeast coast by the end of the weekend and then off of the coast early next week.
Memorial Day will be on the warmer side with partly sunny skies, with a chance of a shower in the afternoon.
As high pressure moves offshore, moisture will increase next week with a better chance for isolated thunderstorms early next week.
