LIVE: Tornado Threat From New Orleans to Pensacola

Thunderstorms developing across part of the Southeast has brought the threat of severe storms to the area Sunday night with some storms capable of producing tornadoes.
These storms ramped up during Sunday afternoon and into the evening from eastern Texas through central Mississippi.
Thunderstorms were expected to develop along a warm front on the Gulf Coast with the potential of damaging winds, tornadoes and hail, AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
"The potential will exist from New Orleans to Pensacola through midnight local time," Edwards said.

Earlier Sunday, flooding was reported across parts of Louisiana and Texas with more than 4 inches of rain falling southeast of Dallas.

9:00 p.m. EDT Sunday: Storms from Lafayette and Lake Charles, La., to Beaumont and Port, Texas, are starting to intensify, AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
8:50 p.m. EDT Sunday: Golf-ball-sized hail fell at Philadelphia, Miss., emergency management reports.
8:40 p.m. EDT Sunday: Golf-ball-sized hail fell near Burnside, Miss., emergency management reports.
7:55 p.m. EDT Sunday: The canal is out of its banks in Yazoo City, Miss., emergency management reports.
7:40 p.m. EDT Sunday: Law enforcement reports widespread flooding in Claiborne, Jackson, Lincoln and Union parishes in Louisiana.
