Ottawa County sheriff's dispatcher Colleen Thompson, told the Associated Press that the extent of the damage is still unknown.
The tornado that touched down in the small northeastern Oklahoma town is one of several reported throughout the central U.S. Sunday evening.
"Conditions throughout the central part of the country are ripe for severe weather through tonight as a large, potent storm system continues to track across the Plains," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "There is a possibility for several more tornadoes tonight from Texas through Missouri so residents should continue to monitor any watches and warnings that are issued."
The National Weather Service has issued several tornado watches and warnings in and across the central U.S., with a severe thunderstorm watch setting the stage for a particularly dangerous situation with violent tornadoes across Arkansas, including Little Rock.
