Boston Mild Spell to End After Monday

Mild weather will hold around Boston through Monday before rain ushers in noticeably cooler air.
Some people may opt to leave their jackets at home on Monday with temperatures set to rise into the lower 70s.
Typical of the spring, the cool waters will exert an influence along the coast and over the islands, especially south-facing coastal communities.
Monday's warmth will occur despite clouds winning out over sunshine, but dry weather will hold.

Rain will return and the mild spell will dramatically end on Tuesday as a blast of colder air sweeping in from the Plains arrives.

Residents should not get excited about viewing the lunar eclipse early Tuesday morning due to clouds and a couple of showers preceding the steadier rain.
While Tuesday's rain is not expected to cause widespread flooding issues around the city, postponements to outdoor activities and slow travel are likely to result.

The rain will prevent temperatures on Tuesday from rising out of the middle 60s.
An even colder Wednesday will unfold despite the departure of the rain and some sun returning. Temperatures will struggle to climb much above the 50-degree mark.
As the chilly air settles in, subfreezing overnight low temperatures should return to some northern and western suburbs Tuesday night. Frost and freezing issues in the suburbs may follow for Wednesday night.
More seasonable highs are expected by Friday.
