August 23,2013

Hail Reports
This radar image illustrates the hail reported Thursday night in Colorado. Some hailstones were as large as 2.7 inches in diameter.
Strong to severe thunderstorms pushed through the Colorado Springs, Denver and Pueblo areas on Thursday night, dropping such an enormous amount of hail that it resembled snowfall.
For the most part, the hailstones were below-severe limits, measuring no more than a dime to a nickel in size. However, larger, severe-size hailstones were reported during the event. The National Weather Service in Boulder, Colo. received a report of golf ball size hail in Jefferson County.
