Warm and humid conditions will prevail in the Washington, D.C., area through Labor Day. However, drenching storms may come calling on a couple of occasions.
High temperatures will be close to 90 degrees each day with nighttime lows in the lower 70s.
After downpours Wednesday, much of Thursday, Friday and Saturday over the District, Virginia, Maryland and the Eastern Shore will be free of rain most of the time. While there is a risk of a pop-up shower, these days should be the best bets for outdoor plans at the zoo, boating, ball games, sightseeing or swimming.
The weather is destined to turn more unsettled Sunday into Labor Day from the mountains to the I-95 corridor.
While these days will also bring their rain-free intervals, a system approaching from the Canada Prairies will increase the number and intensity of showers and thunderstorms.
The least-rainiest spots Sunday and most of the day Monday are likely to be over the beaches of the Delmarva.

Folks heading home from their Labor Day or late-summer ventures at the beach, bay and mountains could encounter delays at the airports and on the beltways and interstate highways Monday afternoon or Monday night.
It will not be until a cool front swings through Tuesday when humidity levels will be shaved and the risk of showers and thunderstorms diminishes.
