Stormy weather will linger into the start of the International Berlin Beer Festival but will clear up by the weekend when the event is in full swing.
The festival will take place from Friday afternoon through Sunday night and is expected to attract around 800,000 visitors.
The event will feature 2,400 unique beer specialties from 87 countries. Other events include the World's Longest Beer Garden and 20 stages featuring live music.
Rain is expected to fall until around midday in Berlin, as festivities get underway. However, drier weather will build in during the afternoon with a few breaks of sunshine by the end of the day.
Temperatures will be seasonably cool with highs only near 20 C (68 F).
High pressure building in from the west will usher drier and comfortable air into the region on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday will feature a mixture of clouds and sunshine with an afternoon high temperature near 22 C (71 F).
