Following the wet, windy and cooler weekend, one final surge of heat will encompass much of England and Wales from Tuesday through Thursday.
High pressure centered to the east of the British Isles will pull hot air northward from the Mediterranean, causing temperatures to soar well above normal across England and Wales on Tuesday.
High temperatures will peak around 29 C (85 F) in London and surrounding areas.
High temperatures will range from 22-26 C (72-78 F) across Wales and Northern England. High dew points will make it feel even warmer throughout the day.

The heat will continue to build across Southern England on Wednesday while more seasonable air from the Atlantic Ocean cuts back the heat in Wales and Northern England. This pattern will hold into Thursday.
While most of Southern England will experience temperatures ranging from 27-30 C (80-86 F) on Wednesday and Thursday, a few of the hottest locations could have temperatures approach 32 C (90 F).
"Temperatures in Greater London will be in the upper 20s C (80-85 F), about 6-8 C (10-16 F) above normal," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski.
A storm system will arrive from the Atlantic late in the week bringing an end to the most intense heat; however, temperatures will remain several degrees above normal into the weekend.
The normal high temperature in London is 20.6 C (69 F) and 19.4 C (67 F) in Manchester.

The remainder of the U.K. will escape any significant heat as cooler air from the Atlantic Ocean keeps temperatures near normal this week.
The heat will also be limited by spells of rain that will spread from south to north across Northern Ireland, western Wales and Scotland on Tuesday and Thursday.
AccuWeather meteorologists expect this to the final spell of summer heat for the U.K. as September will turn stormy and with more seasonable temperatures.
