Seattle: Late-Week Wintry Mix, Chill to Sweep Area

The blast of arctic air spreading across the nation will set the stage for a winter storm to threaten the Northwest later this week.
Frigid air will not only spend this week pouring across the eastern two-thirds of the nation but will also spill into the Northwest.
Seattle should brace for possible snow on Thursday with ice to follow later in the week.

Cold air spilling into the region will bring temperatures down to the low 40s over the week, nearly 10 degrees below normal for this time of year. With winds, AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures could plunge into the mid-30s.
Breezy conditions will also brush over the area as the arctic air makes an appearance. Sustained winds for much of the week could hover near 10 mph. Some strong gusts could reach close to 25 mph.

Overnight temperatures will follow a similar drop, falling into the mid-30s into late week. Clouds that cover the region during the day will persist into the evenings, bringing RealFeel® lows into the upper 20s.
Looking ahead to the weekend, drier conditions will persists though temperatures will slightly rise into the mid-40s.
