The coldest weather since last March will grip the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, area through the middle of the week.
Daytime highs will be with a few degrees of 30 F, while temperatures will plunge much lower at night. Temperatures typically range from a low the middle 30s F to a high in the lower 50s during the third week of November.
Factoring in wind and other conditions AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures can be 20 degrees lower than the actual temperature at times.

While RealFeel does not impact mechanical objects, the cold can penetrate drafty areas. Make sure water has been drained out of frost-prone pluming fixtures, to avoid costly damage and repairs.

If traveling cross-country near the Great Lakes, be sure to check AccuWeather.com for problems with snow along the way. There will be excessive snow falling in western and northern New York along Interstate-81 and I-90, for example.
The cold weather will allow ski resorts to make snow prior to Thanksgiving.
However, the extreme cold will not last very long.

Temperatures are forecast to rebound markedly this weekend. A storm is forecast to bring and perhaps fog later Sunday into Sunday night for early Thanksgiving travelers.
Even though the weather pattern will bring some additional chilly days next week, the pattern will be more typical of late-November, rather than late-December. Weaker, fast-moving storms will cross the nation with less extreme, less widespread cold.
