A surge of cold air will swoop into Cleveland late this week, erasing the warmth of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The polar vortex is partly responsible for the colder-than-normal air, as it slips southward through the course of this week.
On Thursday and Friday, temperatures will plummet to the upper 30s, where the mercury will remain for a several-day stretch. Normal temperatures for the time of year in Cleveland fall around 50 degrees.

Snow showers and cloudy skies are in the offing beginning Thursday and spanning the weekend. This will make RealFeel® temperatures even lower.
Those who plan to spend time outdoors should prepare to dress for winterlike weather for several days. Highs could be as many as 15 degrees below normal into next week with several opportunities for snow showers.
