While an unusually cold and winterlike storm storm for November will blast the Interstate-84 corridor in the Northwest, the storm will slide south of Seattle.
Only spotty showers of snow, ice and rain will affect the Tacoma, Washington, area with dry, cold air holding on farther to the north. However, motorists heading south on I-5 or southeast to I-82 and I-84 will face travel difficulties due to a major winter-style storm.
Areas from Portland to Pendleton, Oregon, will be hit hard by this storm more fitting for January.
For commuters heading to and from work or those with any plans that require long distance travel, stay alert to precipitation in the area by using MinuteCast® to track snow and rain in your precise location.
The cold air will continue to produce temperatures more typical of January in the Seattle area with highs in the 40s most days and early morning lows within a few degrees of freezing into next week.
Temperatures east of the Cascades will continue to dip into the single digits and teens at night.
