A cold frontal boundary extended from the central Gulf Coast to the Northeast on Saturday, while a low pressure system approached the northwestern corner of the country.

Flood warnings were issued across the central Gulf Coast on Saturday as a cold front initiated stormy weather over the region. A line of strong thunderstorms developed from the coast of Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. Boothville, La., reported a midday total of 0.77 inches of rain. Meanwhile, a low pressure system along the northern end of the cold front moved across the Northeast. This system brought scattered rain and snow showers Upstate New York and parts of New England. Bar Harbor, Maine, reported a midday total of 0.69 inches of rain, while Rockland, Maine, reported a midday total of 0.56 inches of rain.

A low pressure system also inched across the Four Corners on Saturday. This system produced scattered showers across New Mexico and Texas, while light snow showers moved across the Rockies. To the north, a separate low pressure system ushered a cluster of showers and thunderstorms across the Dakotas and Minnesota.

Out West, a wave of low pressure approached the Pacific Northwest. Rainy weather pushed across Washington and northern Oregon, while a mixture of rain and snow moved over the Cascades. High pressure kept California mostly clear on Saturday.
