With almost three inches of rain hitting Atlanta early this week, the city will have a chance to dry out as the storms taper off, bringing in warmer, milder weather by midweek.
"The rain is just about over," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Dave Samuhel said. "It looks like the bulk of the storm is through."
Samuhel said there is a chance for a spotty shower late Tuesday night, but calmer weather is in store.
"There will be a lot of clouds Tuesday, which will keep the area cool," he said, adding highs will remain in the low 60s throughout the day, between 5 and 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
"It's going to be noticeably cool," he said.
As the week moves forward, temperatures will climb close to average on Wednesday approaching the mid-60s.

"There will be a gusty wind, but at least it will be sunny," he said.
Into Thursday and Friday, temperatures should climb even higher into the low 70s as the weekend nears.
"It will be a real quiet week," he said.
