Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday,October 24,2013.
A ridge of high pressure will continue to build along the coast of
California on Thursday, while a cold front will stretch from the
Intermountain West to the lower Mississippi Valley.
Cool, dry conditions will persist in the Pacific Northwest on Thursday,
as temperatures are expected to range between the 50s and 60s during the
day. To the south, clear conditions will also persist, with
temperatures ranging between the 70s and 80s. The southern California
and Arizona deserts may experience temperatures in the lower 90s due to a
high pressure system along the southern California coast.
A cold front will extend from the Intermountain West, through the
southern Plains and into the lower Mississippi Valley, which will push
cold air across the central third of the country. Light to moderate rain
will be possible in northern Montana, while a mixture of rain and snow
will impact northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, Michigan,
Pennsylvania and New York. Northern New England will likely experience
heavier snow showers due to a low pressure system along the U.S. Canada
border. Along the eastern tip of this cold front, a low pressure system
will usher wet weather into the southern Ohio Valley, as well as parts
of the Mid-Atlantic and Appalachian states. The majority of the
Southeast will avoid precipitation, while the southern tip of Florida
may experience spotty showers and thunderstorms.
