It will feel more like Thanksgiving around State College and Altoona, Pa., through the end of the week and some locations may even see their first snowflakes of the season.
As the coldest air of the season so far flows across the Great Lakes and into the Appalachians, a few wet snowflakes can mix in at times along with chilly rain showers in the valleys.
There is even the chance of grassy surfaces over the mountains being whitened on a couple of occasions through Friday.
The highest elevations of western Pennsylvania can pick up a couple of inches of snow.
