Warm weather will prevail in San Francisco this weekend before a blast of cool air.
High pressure kicking up strong Santa Ana winds across Southern California will keep San Francisco clear of low clouds through Sunday.
The high is also ushering away the cool Pacific air that typically holds temperatures to the lower 70s in early October.
Instead, afternoon temperatures this weekend will warm into the upper 70s. Lows Sunday morning are expected to be in the middle 50s.
Some clouds filtering overhead as the weekend comes to a close, however, will indicate that a change is on the way for San Francisco's weather.
The cool Pacific air will be allowed to return on Monday as the high pressure gives way to an approaching cold front.

More significant cooling will take place around midweek as a chilly storm system from British Columbia drops southward into California. Wednesday's high will struggle to reach 65 degrees. A shower or two is also possible this day.
