Chilly Weekend for Pittsburgh but Warmer Air Coming

October 25,2013; 9:38PM,EDT

Chilly air will continue to grip the Pittsburgh area through this weekend, but warmer air is coming.
Highs this weekend will remain around 50 with lows in the mid 30s. The end of the week has been below average with highs only in the mid 40s.
The average high for this time of year in Pittsburgh is around 60. Temperatures this week have been running as high as 10 degrees below average.
However, the air may feel even chillier Saturday afternoon as gusty winds move into the city. Occasional gusts up to 40 mph are possible and could produce some damage around the city.

With the cold air in place, some folks in the Pittsburgh suburbs recorded their first snowfall of the season. Areas north of the city received the most snow. Crawford County, Pa., had a report of nearly 7 inches of snow. Other reports across the county were between 2 to 4 inches.
Snow is not expected in the city this weekend or early next week.
