Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,September 28,2016

Active weather will impact the Mid-Atlantic on Wednesday, while monsoonal thunderstorms develop in the Southwest.

A low pressure system will shift east southeastward across the Midwest. This system will produce showers and thunderstorms across a large part of the Midwest. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward. As this frontal boundary swings across the Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic, rain and thunderstorms will develop over a handful of states stretching from southern New England to the Southeast. Locally heavy rain will be possible across the Mid-Atlantic. Prolonged heavy rain could lead to flash flooding in eastern Pennsylvania, eastern Maryland, Delaware, eastern Virginia and eastern North Carolina. Cool air will trail this frontal boundary over the upper Mississippi Valley, the middle Mississippi Valley, the Midwest and the Tennessee Valley.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area will initiate scattered monsoonal thunderstorms across parts of southern California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, western New Mexico and western Colorado. Most of the upper Intermountain West and the Pacific Northwest should stay clear of precipitation. Cool air will move over parts of western Oregon and western Washington as a frontal system approaches from the eastern Pacific.
