As of Sunday morning, Karl was centered more than 500 miles south-southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland.

This post-tropical cyclone will still produce areas of storm-force winds over the north Atlantic Ocean into Monday as it merges with another extratropical storm east-northeast of Newfoundland.
Bermuda International Airport was glanced by rainbands on the western edge of Karl Saturday morning, recording a wind gust to 43 mph as Karl's center came within 50 miles of the archipelago.

Incidentally, according to Colorado State University tropical scientist, Dr. Phil Klotzbach, Karl was the longest-lived Atlantic named storm never to reach hurricane intensity in 13 years.
