Weather Underground Forecast for Monday,December 8,2014

A Pacific system will impact the West Coast on Monday, while a low pressure system will slide across the upper Midwest.

Unsettled weather will affect portions of the Northwest on Monday as a strong low pressure system develops over the eastern Pacific. Heavy rain is forecast for western Washington, while light to moderate showers will spread across Oregon and northern California. The heaviest rain over Washington will develop along western facing mountain slopes, especially over the Olympic range. High elevation snow showers are expected for the Cascades. Conditions will remain mostly clear across the Great Basin, the Southwest and the southern Rockies as high pressure builds over the region.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system will move eastward over the upper Midwest and the western Great Lakes. This system will usher a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow across the Midwest, the Great Lakes and the Ohio Valley. To the south, wet weather will persist over the southern tip of Texas.

A low pressure system will deepen over the Eastern Seaboard on Monday. As this system rotates over the Mid-Atlantic, it will bring a chance of rain to the Southeast coast and the southern Mid-Atlantic. In addition, freezing rain will be possible over the northern Mid-Atlantic, while a mixture of rain and snow will develop across the coast of New England.
