After heavy rain inundated much of the Bay area, drier weather can be expected for the weekend before the rain makes a return early in the new week.
Average rainfall for this month is 4.03 inches. As of Friday, San Francisco saw 3.78 inches of rain from the recent storm.
High pressure will briefly build into the West Coast this weekend, according to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards.

"A much drier weather pattern can be expected across the San Francisco and Bay area over the weekend before stormy weather returns early next week," he said.
Residents can expect partly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday with highs around 60 F, which is normal for this time of year.

"Rain will move in by Sunday night as another cold front comes in from the Pacific Ocean," Edwards said.
More rain can be expected as the storm continues to soak the area on Monday with highs in the upper 50s.
"Another, potent wave of low pressure will bring more rain to the Bay area later Tuesday and Tuesday night, some of which can be heavy," Edwards added.
Drier air will move in by the end of the week.
