After a few mild days at the start of next week, temperatures will fall in time to create some wintry weather and travel woes for Christmas.
Monday and Tuesday will feel considerably warmer than recent days, as temperatures climb above the 40-degree mark.

Gusty winds and heavy rain on Tuesday have the potential to cause significant travel delays.
Motorists should allow extra time to get to their holiday destinations. Those planning to fly for the holidays should consult their airlines about potential delays and cancelations.
By Christmas Eve, however, cold air will usher in wintry weather to much of the region. Rain will turn to snow showers, though not much accumulation is expected.
While the ground will not be coated for Christmas Day, flurries are in the offing.
