Changes
in the weather pattern begin to occur in midautumn. The tropical season
is winding down and the frequency of tropical systems will diminish
through the month of November. Cold air masses sinking south from the
Arctic will become more frequent, ushering cold air into the eastern
United States. Storm systems coming into the West are more likely to
strengthen as they move east into the central Plains.
