Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,November 4,2014

Unsettled weather will affect the Northwest on Tuesday, while a cold front will move across the central portion of the country.

Another Pacific system will approach the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday. An onshore flow will usher moderate to heavy rain over Washington, Oregon and portions of northern California. Light to moderate precipitation will spread across the upper Intermountain West, while high elevation snow showers will be possible over the Cascades and the northern Rockies. Just to the south, high pressure will build over the eastern Pacific, keeping conditions mostly clear across the Great Basin, the Southwest and the southern Rockies. Temperatures will range between the 70s and 80s across the Desert Southwest.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system will move northeastward over south central Canada. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend south southwestward over the western Great Lakes, the upper Midwest, the middle Mississippi Valley and the southern Plains. As moisture from the Gulf of Mexico collides with this frontal boundary, heavy rain and thunderstorms will develop over the southern Plains, the western Gulf Coast and the lower Mississippi Valley. Lighter rain will spread across the northern Plains, the upper Midwest, the Tennessee Valley and the Ohio Valley, while mixed precipitation will be possible across northeast Minnesota and northern Wisconsin. The Eastern Seaboard will stay mostly clear of wet weather on Tuesday.
