Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,November 2,2014

A trough of low pressure will move over the Intermountain West on Sunday, while a strong low pressure will skim across the Eastern Seaboard.

A trough of low pressure will shift eastward over the Intermountain West on Sunday. This system will usher heavy snow showers across portions of the central and northern Rockies, focusing over Colorado and northwest Montana. In addition, mixed precipitation will affect the lower elevations of the Rockies. An onshore flow will keep conditions unsettled over the Pacific Northwest, resulting in light showers across the region. There will be a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms over Arizona and New Mexico as the aforementioned system taps into tropical moisture over the Desert Southwest. Conditions are expected to clear up over California as high pressure builds over the eastern Pacific.

Meanwhile, an arctic high pressure system will dominate the central portion of the country. This system will focus over the Mississippi Valley on Sunday. Gusty winds will move over the high Plains during the second half of the day, while the Mississippi Valley and the upper Midwest will experience a much calmer weather pattern.

Just to the east, a strong coastal system will trek northward along the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. Heavy snow showers will impact northern New England. Portions of Maine will receive up to a foot of snow, while coastal regions will experience a mixture of rain and snow.
