As bitterly cold conditions continues around Denver through midweek, snow will blanket the region and add to travel difficulties.
For those not used to the dramatic temperature changes common to Colorado and surrounding areas, this episode through Wednesday may be quite a shock.
On Monday, temperatures around the metro area plunged from a high in the middle 60s late in the morning to the upper teens by the middle of the afternoon.
The plunge will continue into Wednesday with temperatures bottoming out below zero in the morning. A record of minus 4 F set in 1882 will be challenged.

AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures during much of the period through Wednesday night will be well below zero.
After one batch of snow coated some the landscape on Monday, a more substantial dose of snow will affect the Denver area and a significant part of the central Rockies and High Plains at midweek.

Travel along the Interstate-25 corridor from Wyoming to central Colorado into Wednesday can be difficult at times.

The snow and cold will present many hazards. Motorists and pedestrians should be on the lookout for slippery roads and sidewalks.
If you must travel long distances through midweek, make sure you and your vehicle are prepared for midwinter-style cold and snow. Temperatures will dip to life-threatening levels and can cause frostbite on exposed skin in a matter of minutes.
Temperatures will recover during second half of the week; however, they will remain below normal for mid-November.
The next chance for snow will arrive to the region late in the week and over the first part of the weekend.
