Winterlike chill to ease across Germany

A pattern change is on the way for Germany during midweek after cold air has remained entrenched over the region for most of this month.
The unseasonable chill that has made it feel more like December or January so far this month will come to an end.
High pressure that has been sitting over Scandinavia and pushing cold air southward across Germany will give way to Atlantic storms that will usher in milder and more seasonable air by the middle of the coming week.

High temperatures will only climb to 1-3 C (34-38 F) from Hamburg to Berlin, Dresden, Nuremberg and Munich through Monday.
Temperatures will be slightly higher across western Germany. Highs will reach 4-6 C (39-43 F) with the highest temperatures near the border with Netherlands and Belgium.
Normal high temperatures are near 8 C (46 F) in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne and Berlin.
This chilly and dry air will prevail through Monday. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy in southern and western Germany with more sunshine expected in eastern areas.

Changes will begin on Tuesday as a frontal boundary moves across Germany and produces some scattered showers.
Milder air from the Atlantic Ocean will follow this front and temperatures will rise several degrees, finally returning to normal levels for the middle of November by Wednesday.
High temperatures will climb to (45-50 F) across much of Germany during the second half of next week. While these temperatures are close to normal for mid-November, it will feel noticeably milder compared to the recent cold spell.
This milder air is expected to remain over Germany for most of the second half of November, keeping temperatures close to normal and preventing any further cold spells.
