The turn to milder conditions across Germany will be halted later this week.
The persistent December-like cold is easing across Germany, giving way to a surge of milder air.
However, a pair of cold fronts will prevent the warming trend from lasting into the weekend.
Wednesday will mark the first day since 8 November that temperatures will rise above 4 C (40 F) in Berlin. Temperatures will continue to trend upward into Friday, reaching a high of near 12 C (53 F).
The warmest days of this week will feature highs of 10-14 C (50-57 F) throughout the country.

The upcoming cold shot will be more typical of November.
Cooler air will begin to filter into northern Germany starting on Thursday. A stronger push of colder air will sweep across the country on Friday.
Friday's cold front will cross Germany from west to east and will be accompanied by showers, the most numerous of which will occur across northern and western areas.
Typical November chill will encompass Germany on Saturday with highs ranging from 5-9 C (41-49 F). While Saturday will not be as frigid as what was endured during the past week, residents should still grab a jacket and hat before heading outdoors.

Umbrellas should also be kept handy on Saturday due to another round of showers. Enough cold air could filter in for snow showers in the higher elevations.
The upcoming cooldown will not linger over Germany as long as the December-like cold snap. Temperatures will quickly rebound back above normal early next week.
The next warming trend will come after a potent storm grazes northwestern Germany with damaging winds on Sunday, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
