After an unseasonably warm start to November, cool shots will continue to target the northeastern United States this week.
From Nov. 2-4, temperatures averaged 9 degrees Fahrenheit above normal in New York City. Temperatures in Baltimore averaged almost 6 degrees above normal during the same period.
While the chill from this weekend lingers across New England on Monday, cooler air will also press into the mid-Atlantic as places west of the Appalachian Mountains remain mild for early November.
"Highs on Monday will range from the 40s in northern New England to the 50s southward to the Chesapeake Bay," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said.
Although the average high in Boston is in the middle 50s, temperatures on Monday will once again struggle to surpass 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
"Monday will be the coolest day since the start of the month in Washington, D.C., as temperatures only flirt with the 60-degree mark," Pydynowski said.
Factoring in the wind, AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures will be held to the upper 30s and lower 40s across the southeastern New England coast on Monday, even during the warmest part of the afternoon.

The showers that mixed with snowflakes and snow pellets across New England on Sunday will give way to abundant sunshine on Monday.
The crisp but dry weather will give area residents an excellent opportunity to check out the remaining fall colors, AccuWeather Meteorologist Renee Duff said.
According to a report released by The Foliage Network on Nov. 3, leaves are at or near peak across the mid-Atlantic and along the Northeast coast.
As high pressure moves over New England early this week, milder and less windy conditions will return.
Temperatures are expected to rebound into the 60s across southern New England and even to around 70 F in the southern mid-Atlantic on Tuesday.
While temperatures may get throttled back at midweek in the wake of a cold front, there are signs that a stronger shot of arctic air will plunge into the Northeast around the start of next weekend and give residents another taste of December.
"It will feel more like December next weekend as cold wind howl," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said. "Snow showers will return to the interior and it is even possible for a few snowflakes to streak east to the I-95 corridor."
