DC, Baltimore: Locally Gusty Storms to Hit

Following a dry start to the week, a system from the Midwest will push locally gusty and drenching thunderstorms across the Washington, D.C., Baltimore area by Tuesday.
Some of the storms reach the area during Monday night. People heading to the beach will want to keep an eye on the sky and checking AccuWeather.com for updates on potential severe weather on Tuesday.
Humidity levels will surge ahead of the storms.

The storms will bring the potential for both damaging wind gusts and flash flooding.
While the storms could slow highway travel and cause airline delays, they can give thirsty lawns and gardens a drink.
Rain Arrives to Start the Week
Rainfall has been above average in Washington, D.C., for much of the summer. However, since July 1, rainfall has dipped to around 50 percent of average in parts of northern and eastern Maryland in northern Virginia.

Following the storms, humidity levels will be slashed by Wednesday.
Temperatures will remain near average through Thursday, before trending higher by next weekend.
