Germany: Dangerous thunderstorms to rattle areas into Tuesday evening

After surge of warm and humid air across Germany on Tuesday, violent thunderstorms will rumble across the country into the evening.
Western and central Germany will be at highest risk for severe thunderstorms into Tuesday night.
Thunderstorms began Bremen to Cologne early on Tuesday afternoon, reaching Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Hamburg by day's end.

These storms will continue to roll eastward through Tuesday evening, slowly weakening during the overnight hours.
Despite weakening, thunderstorms will still be capable of producing locally damaging winds and flooding downpours in Berlin, Dresden and Munich overnight.
The threat for showers and thunderstorms will continue across southern Germany, including Stuttgart and Munich on Wednesday.

Cooler and less humid air will return to central and northern Germany on Wednesday, with temperatures closer to normal levels.
The normal high temperature across Germany in the middle of August is 22-23 C (72-74 F).
Another cold front arriving on Thursday will bring more showers and thunderstorms along with the threat for flash flooding.
