France to Germany Severe Weather Threat Wednesday and Thursday

A slow-moving storm system will bring multiple days of severe weather to parts of western Europe this week.
The area of greatest risk stretch from France into Belgium, Netherlands and Germany from Tuesday night into Thursday.
While not expecting severe weather, rain and a few thunderstorms with gusty winds are possible across Portugal and Spain on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Some areas could see localized flooding.
As a warm front lifts across France, the threat for severe weather will increase in western and northern France Wednesday afternoon.

Across western France downpours will result in the threat for flash flooding while the strongest thunderstorms will be capable of producing damaging winds and hail. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Farther north, rainfall will increase during the afternoon around Paris with the greatest threat for severe weather during the late afternoon and evening hours. Again heavy rain, damaging winds and hail will be possible.
This same threat will exist across Belgium and Netherlands where thunderstorms will rumble Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The threat for severe weather will diminish overnight Wednesday and Thursday morning before another round of potentially severe thunderstorms will erupt Thursday afternoon into Thursday night from eastern France into western and southern Germany.
Once again, the storms will be capable of producing torrential rainfall, damaging winds and hail.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue across western and central Europe from Friday into the weekend, but no widespread severe weather is expected at this time.
Ahead of this storm, unseasonable warmth and high humidity will prevail from Germany and Switzerland eastward across Europe with temperatures 5-10 C (9-18 F) above normal.
