Tropical Storm Ivette is battling the twin nemeses of wind shear and dry air after becoming the ninth eastern Pacific named storm to form since July 2.

Once again, it won't threaten the Mexican Pacific coast, moving toward the west-northwest in the open waters of the eastern and central Pacific Ocean.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
- Tropical Storm Ivette was located nearly 1,200 miles east of the Hilo, Hawaii, as of Saturday evening.
- This system is battling both wind shear and dry air so it is now more likely to remain a tropical storm
- Ivette will experience increased wind shear and cooler water and will continue to weaken.
- This system is currently no threat to any land areas.
