Fall-like chill to surge into Germany next week

A break from the typical summertime heat will come for much of Germany late next week, as fall-like air surges into the country.
By Wednesday, temperatures could be more than 7 degrees Celsius (11 degrees Fahrenheit) cooler than the afternoon highs expected early in the week.

"Across much of Germany, temperatures will generally struggle late in the week to reach the upper teens Celsius (middle to upper 60s F)," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.
Overnight temperatures will drop even lower, with widespread lows around 10 C (50 F).
"In addition to the cooler air, the chilly northwesterly breeze will make it feel like an early taste of autumn," Roys said.
This means those attending outdoor events and concerts that continue into the evening should bring along a light jacket and possibly rain gear.
For the start of Gaubodenvolksfest on 12 August, a folk and beer festival held along the Danube River in Straubing, temperatures on Friday will be in only the upper teens C (middle 60s F).
The festival in southeastern Germany hosts approximately 1.4 million visitors each year, according to the Gaubodenvolksfest's official website.
Just north of Cologne in the city of Leverkusen, Opladener Bierbörse, a renowned beer market and festival, will start its five-day celebration on Thursday, 11 August.
Once again, temperatures will be in the middle to upper teens C (around 65 F), with some showers likely into the start of the weekend.

Into Thursday and Friday, the northerly flow will keep the air cool and help to ignite showers and thunderstorms.
It is not expected to be wet for the entirety of any day late next week. Breaks in the showers and thunderstorms will allow some sunshine to peek through.
Without a strong change in the pattern, a strong area of high pressure will continue to funnel cool air and showers into Germany for the second weekend in August.
