Germany: Showers to linger into Christmas though cold December air remains absent

A few showers will linger across Germany on Christmas Day, but there remains no sign of typical December cold returning.
After a potent front with a period of rain and strong winds blasts northern Germany Monday night, fronts that follow will lead to breezy conditions and showers in northern Germany on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The showers will be more numerous on Tuesday than Wednesday. However, Wednesday's spotty showers will dip farther to southward to Baden-Wurttemberg and Saxony.

Yet another front will move from northwest to southeast across the country later Christmas Eve into Christmas Day, accompanied by a broken line of showers.
The showers should reach Hamburg and Bremen on Thursday afternoon and evening, then Berlin and Stuttgart late Thursday night.
On Christmas Day, a shower or two will be around from Stuttgart to Nuremberg and Dresden.

While blinding downpours are not expected, those heading to Christmas Eve services or other holiday festivities will want to carry along an umbrella. However, heavy winter jackets will not be needed with typical December cold still absent.
Temperatures during the night of Christmas Eve will range from 3-7 Celsius (upper 30s to lower 40s F) followed by highs from the upper single digits to lower teens C (middle 40s to lower 50s F) on Christmas Day.
These highs will be a bit lower than those registered on Christmas Eve in northern Germany, where a breeze will create slightly lower AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures. However, temperatures across the country will remain above the normal highs of 2-6 C (36-43 F).
More mild days will follow for the weekend with rain occasionally grazing the north.
