While
heavy, wet snow can provide a beautiful winter scene as it sticks to
everything, there are dangers to this type of snow event. The weight of
the heavy snow can pull down power lines and overload transformers.
Wintertime power outages are particularly dangerous as they often leave
homes without heat for prolonged periods of time.
