Clouds will increase on Tuesday as rain approaches from the south, but waits until the late afternoon hours to reach eastern Massachusetts. The rain will continue through Wednesday, especially in the morning.

Since numerous downpours and widespread flooding should stay absent, Tuesday's rain will be mostly a nuisance for travelers and those with outdoor plans.
Reduced visibility and water ponding on roads, heightening the risk of vehicles hydroplaning, will slow down motorists. Outdoor activities could be forced indoors or postponed.
As quick as Wednesday's rain departs, another cold front with more rain will follow for Thursday afternoon.
